Industrial Process Plant Revamp

The photograph captures an operational industrial process plant where Purna executed comprehensive engineering design and layout optimisation. This facility integrates complex piping networks, heat exchange systems, conveyors, structural platforms and associated utilities representing a typical brownfield environment with significant spatial and operational constraints.

Scope of Engineering Delivered

Purna’s team provided end-to-end design support covering:

1. 3D Piping Layout Development

The piping network visible in the plant ranging from insulated process lines to structural supported utility routes was engineered to ensure safe routing, accessibility and effective integration with existing equipment.

2. Equipment Modelling and Alignment

All major equipment, including process vessels, ducting systems, heat-transfer lines and rotating/processing machinery, was modelled to construction level accuracy. The design ensured smooth interfacing with legacy assets.

3. Structural Platforms and Support Engineering

The steel platforms and pipe support seen in the image were engineered for stability, maintenance access and compliance with load requirements. Purna developed structural GA drawings, connection details and support schemes.

4. Brownfield Integration and Revamp Engineering

Working within a live plant required detailed assessment of existing conditions. Purna coordinated:

Outcome and Value Delivered

The revamp improved operational efficiency, ensured compliance with engineering standards and enabled the plant to expand capacity without major shutdowns. Purna’s integrated approach combining 3D modelling with on site engineering judgement was critical to the project’s success.

This project reinforces Purna’s capabilities in brownfield engineering, complex piping design and multidisciplinary integration for process industries.
